So Christmas is still in full blast and I have all the gifts that I received from my friends and family. Most of the gifts I received are monetary (I am very hard to shop for) and I am sitting here at my desk thinking what I should get , childish I know but I could really use some help here.
I was thinking of getting my self a new outfit but I have a school uniform now so I 'll pass on that one. Then I thought about buying a whole bunch of little things that will probably be used only one or twice then get shoved into my desk drawer and will never get used again or get re gifted.
Part of the money that was given to me was from a family friend who is the local Superior of our Third Order branch of the Alliance of the Two Hearts here in Windsor. As she slipped me the gift she told me that she didn't have the time to buy me a book so here was something for it to go towards. I though about buying my self a nice book that I could use everyday. I just purchased a prayer book called Manual of Prayers published by Midwest Theological Forum and by The North American Pontifical College in Rome, which I highly recommend , but I felt like I could go deeper in vocal prayer. Then it hit me while I was praying my divine office , I needed a new Breviary! My current one, Christian Prayer, although very rich in Church prayer and teaching is lacking a lot compared to what the 4 volume set of the Liturgy of the Hours has. My aunts have been using the set for a long time now and they can do nothing but recommend purchasing it.
So now comes the hard part, I have to decide what I will put the money to, I am set on buying the Breviary set but I am still not sure on it all. So if you could give me some tips that would be great.
P.S if you own the Liturgy of the Hours set please leave me a comment telling me how you like it.
